A brighter future for young Aboriginal men – partnership with Clontarf

At Lightsource bp, we’re committed to having a positive impact on our local communities, and we’re always looking for opportunities to make a difference to the people living around our solar projects. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Clontarf Foundation’s Wellington Academy, near our Wellington Solar Farm  in New South Wales, Australia.

The Clontarf Foundation exists to improve the education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and by doing so equips them to participate more meaningfully in society. Throughout the partnership, which will span the lifetime of our Wellington Solar Farm, we’ll contribute $10,000 annually towards the Clontarf Wellington Academy. As well as the financial contribution, our staff will work with the Clontarf Foundation to provide engagement, education, mentoring, employment and social responsibility opportunities for students at the Wellington Academy. We’re hopeful that this flagship commitment will pave the way for partnerships with other Clontarf Foundation Academies across Australia, as our project pipeline progresses.

Our outreach and engagement isn’t just limited to Australia – to find out more about how we’re working with communities worldwide.
