Proposed solar installation at Hulam Farm

The proposal involves Lightsource bp funding the development of a solar installation that will connect into the local electricity network, with an output power capacity of 49.9MW (Megawatts).

Through our initial assessments we have selected the site area shown below, and we’re now undertaking a wide range of environmental assessments to help shape our plans. These include landscape and visual, heritage and archaeology, ecology and more.

We held an information event on Wednesday 4th December 2019 at Hesleden Working Mens Club, Front St, Hesleden, Hartlepool, TS27 4PH, to inform the local community and ask for their feedback. Representatives from Lightsource BP were on hand to answer any questions about the proposal from local residents and interested parties, and we sent out an information leaflet to the local community, as well as a press release to local newspapers.

Our proposal

We are currently preparing a planning application; through this process our plans will evolve based on local input from the community information event and the results of various environmental assessments that we have commissioned. These are our current thoughts.
