A proposed 174MWdc solar farm north of Auckland

The Glorit solar farm is a 174MWdc project on the Kaipara Coast, north of Kaukapakapa, Auckland. Lightsource bp and Contact Energy will develop the solar farm, which is expected to have an operational life of at least 35 years. The site will connect to the existing Transpower 220kV transmission network via a 1.5km dedicated connection from the site to the transmission network. We are working closely with Transpower on this grid connection point.

We have recently obtained the planning application to the Environmental Protection Authority under the Resource Management (Natural and Built Environment and Spatial Planning Repeal and Interim Fast-track Consenting) Act 2023. Construction is expected to commence later in 2026.
