Lightsource bp strengthens executive team with new Group General Counsel

 

9th November 2021 – Global solar leader, Lightsource bp is pleased to announce the appointment of Lee Young as its new Group General Counsel. Lee will oversee the legal, company secretarial and compliance functions for Lightsource bp as the company continues its rapid phase of globalisation. Lightsource bp most recently announced a $1.8bn new credit facility that will act as a springboard for its ambition of developing 25GW of solar projects by 2025 across the world

Lee has more than 20 years of experience in the corporate legal sector with a strong focus on energy. Lee, most recently serving as Legal Director for energy major TotalEnergies, managing the M&A, corporate finance, project finance and anti-trust legal functions globally. Lee was also appointed to the board of NASDAQ listed Maxeon Solar Technologies in 2020 following its spin-off from US Sunpower Corporation. 

Lee’s role at Lightsource bp will support growth across all areas of the business and the 15 territories Lightsource bp currently operates in, as well as future markets. His M&A experience across the Americas, EMEA and Asia will complement Lightsource bp’s next stage of global expansion. 

Nick Boyle, Group CEO said of the appointment: “Lee’s background in board level legal and senior leadership roles will anchor our Executive Team as we continue to promote sound decision making as we expand and evolve.
