Victory at Solar Power Portal Awards – Lightsource BP Wins Transaction of the Year!
We’re incredibly proud to announce that last night at the Solar Power Portal Awards, Lightsource BP were declared the winner of the Transaction of the Year Award for our partnership with BP.
The partnership, which saw BP take a 43% share in the company, was announced in late 2017, and in early 2018 we completed our rebranding to Lightsource BP. The deal is a strategic partnership between a global energy superpower and a driving force in renewables, aimed at accelerating the low-carbon transition worldwide.
The deal was the end product of months of hard work from multiple teams across both businesses, and was for many the crowning achievement of their solar careers. We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved together, as the year mark approaches, and looking forwards, the future of solar has never seemed brighter!
