Raising money for the Lightsource Foundation

Our teams across the globe have been working hard to raise money for the Lightsource Foundation, which is our way of giving back to those less fortunate. Our current focus at Lightsource bp is working with World Vision to help the most vulnerable children in Sarlahi, Nepal. Working with World Vision, we have transformed thousands of lives by building strong bonds with the communities we support, and bringing hope and a better future for the children that suffer the most.

Over the past couple of months, our global teams have been taking part in a number of different initiatives to raise money for the Lightsource Foundation. Our Walk 4 Water efforts raised an amazing £2,430! A huge congratulations to everyone who took part, from Amsterdam to San Francisco, members of our teams walked six kilometres at a time, giving many of us across our global offices an insight into the average distance children in developing countries such as Nepal have to walk everyday to get water. Water sanitation is one of our key objectives in Salahi, so a huge thank you is due to everyone who got involved!

As well as taking part in the Walk 4 Water, our Australian team recently got together for a round of golf raising over A$1,000 for the Lightsource Foundation. Various skill levels were on display throughout the day as the teams hit the green – while some reported excellent scores others were seen running back to the clubhouse for additional balls, but no matter the skill level everybody gave it their best shot, raising money for the Foundation.

Giving back is a vital part of our company DNA. We are proud of the work that we’ve achieved with the Lightsource Foundation and we’d like to extend a huge thank you to all our employees across the globe who’ve taken part in our recent fund raising efforts.
