Over 100MW of UK solar & storage projects approved
We’re proud to announce that over the past three months we’ve secured planning permission for a total of over 100MW of solar and storage projects in the UK. These projects have been developed by our expert teams, managing the process in-house from start to finish, and the approval of each of these applications is further proof of our ability to develop high-quality assets.
Each of these projects will have an important part to play in enabling utilities and businesses to decarbonise, in pursuit of the government’s target of achieving net zero by 2050, and they also play a role in helping Lightsource bp meet our own targets of 25GW developed by 2025. We’re enabling a future of low carbon energy that is sustainable and secure, and each milestone for each project gets us closer to that point.
Recently approved applications include…
- Lawns Farm solar project, a 23.5MW site in Lancashire which will generate enough electricity to power around 6,800 homes and will reduce carbon emissions by 4,800 tonnes, the equivalent of taking 3,300 cars off the road
- Two battery projects in England with a total capacity of 82MW
