Approved solar farm at Winkburn Estate, Newark

The approved proposal involves Lightsource bp funding the development of a solar installation that will have an output power capacity of 32MW (Megawatts).

We undertook a wide range of environmental assessments to select the site area shown below, including landscape and visual, heritage and archaeology, ecology and more.

We held a virtual community consultation event, which took place on Thursday 15th October, in the form of a video presentation and live Q&A session. Before the event, we sent a press release to the local paper, and an information leaflet was posted to nearby residents. This site was sold in 2022.

Information & resources

We’re committed to remaining open and engaged with the community during this process. In light of the unusual circumstances, we’re offering anyone who would like to discuss the project the chance to have a one-on-one discussion with our Environmental Planning team, either by phone or via video conferencing. Please use the form below to get in touch if you’d like to arrange this.
