Our hybrid renewable energy projects can blend onshore solar, wind and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to deliver grid firming, flexible and low-cost energy solutions to meet the needs of customers.

Where appropriate, we aim to maximise the use of land by developing multi-use projects that integrate grazing and pollinator habitats, enhance ecosystems and biodiversity, and improve circularity, while providing secure and sustainable long-term value.

Solar PV

Utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) is quick to deploy and cost-competitive, making it the fastest, affordable path to delivering renewable energy at scale. As a renewable form of energy generated during peak demand, our solar PV projects play an important role in meeting growing energy needs, supporting energy certainty and helping to diversify power systems.

We also seek opportunities to deliver multi-use solar. Depending on the business case and specific circumstances, we work with local partners to design agrivoltaics (co-location of agriculture and solar) solutions on appropriate sites from grazing and arable farming to fisheries – ensuring each project is responsibly developed and tailored to local conditions.

Wind

Onshore wind is a proven, mature technology that maximises electricity production. It complements solar by generating electricity at different times of day, helping to diversify renewable generation profiles. Wind energy strengthens our generation portfolio for customers seeking multi-technology power purchase agreements (PPA) that deliver flexible, reliable low-carbon electricity at competitive long-term prices to further help the global energy system.

BESS

Battery energy storage systems (BESS) support grid stability by storing electricity when supply is high and releasing it when it is needed most. Hybrid

Hybrid projects of renewable generation plus battery storage provide grid-firmed, round-the-clock renewable power to meet customer demand.
