Lightsource bp welcomes key new hires in the APAC region, strengthening its role as a global solar leader

Global solar leader Lightsource bp is pleased to announce two recent additions to the APAC senior management team. The new members will be key contributors to Lightsource bp’s presence and delivery in the region.

Lightsource bp’s expansion into APAC continues to be a key pillar of the business’ ambition to be a truly global renewables developer. In just over 5 years, Lightsource bp has originated a multi-GW regional development pipeline, hired over 60 employees and set up its APAC hub in Singapore. Most recently the company is actively progressing business growth across Taiwan and South Korea.

Bin Fu joins Lightsource bp as ‘Regional Head for Taiwan’

Bin Fu recently joined Lightsource bp as Regional Head for Taiwan to lead Lightsource bp’s development activities. Bin has 13 years of experience in the renewables energy sector in Asia with a focus on Japan, China, and Taiwan. During his highly successful career to date – holding management roles in M&A, origination, development, construction, and operation – Bin has developed more than 500MW solar projects across Asia, played a pivotal role in the successful acquisition of an EPC company in Japan, as well as assuming the role of interim CEO during the acquisition of an O&M company in Japan. Bin’s appointment represents Lightsource bp’s commitment to capitalizing on the growth potential of Taiwan and supporting the company’s goal to close financially its first project in Taiwan in 2023.

Jean-Philippe Baudrey joins Lightsource bp as ‘Head of Business Development, South Korea’

Jean-Philippe Baudrey has recently joined Lightsource bp to lead Lightsource bp’s business development and origination activities in South Korea. Jean-Philippe joins from Ocean Wind Korea, a JV between EDP Renewables and ENGIE, where he was associate director of business development. A dual French and Portuguese national, Jean-Philippe first came to Korea 20 years ago, working extensively with the Central Government and advising on the renewable portfolio standard, green growth and strategic partnerships across smart grids, nuclear and wind. Over Jean-Philippe’s successful career he has held various roles across renewable project development, supporting the acquisition of Korea Floating Wind and East Blue Power projects, ultimately building a 3.2GW offshore wind portfolio.

Adam Pegg, Managing Director of APAC comments:
“The addition of Bin Fu and Jean-Philippe Baudrey further strengthens our senior management team in APAC. With their extensive experience and track record of success, we are well-positioned to expand our operations, capitalize on growth opportunities, and drive the transition to clean energy in APAC. And we are excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to making more contributions to the development of renewable energy in the region!”
