A 300MWdc solar farm project and battery energy storage system (BESS)
Our Lower Wonga Solar Farm project is a permitted project which consists of a 300MWdc solar farm and 250MW/1000MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), located next to the Woolooga Powerlink Substation at Wide Bay Highway, Lower Wonga.
The project received development approval from the Gympie Regional Council in 2017. Lightsource bp became the developer of the project in 2022 and is seeking a minor change to the current permit. This project is adjacent to our existing Woolooga Solar Farm and will be developed over approximately 500-600 hectares.
