Lightsource bp funded and developed a 49.9MW solar installation connected into the local electricity network onsite.
We undertook a wide range of environmental assessments to select the site area shown below, including landscape and visual, heritage and archaeology, ecology and more.
We held an information event on June 12th 2019 at Kirkby Fleetham Village Hall, Village Green, Kirkby Fleetham, DL7 0SA to inform the local community and ask for their feedback. Representatives from Lightsource bp were on hand to answer any questions about the proposal from local residents and interested parties, and we sent out an information leaflet to the local community, as well as a press release to local newspapers. This site was sold in 2020.
