Proposed solar installation at The Grange, Hawton, Newark, NG24 3RJ
The proposal involves Lightsource bp funding and operating a solar installation that will connect into the local electricity network onsite, and will have an output power capacity of 49.9MW (Megawatts).
Through our initial assessments we have selected the site area shown below, and we’re now undertaking a wide range of environmental assessments to help shape our plans. These include landscape and visual, heritage and archaeology, ecology and more.
We held an information event on June 11th 2019 at The Parish Church of All Saints, Hawton, Newark, NG24 3RN, to inform the local community and ask for their feedback. Representatives from Lightsource bp were on hand to answer any questions about the proposal from local residents and interested parties, and we sent out an information leaflet to the local community, as well as a press release to local newspapers.
Our proposal
Our plans were finalised following feedback from the community information event and the results of our environmental and planning assessments. These are our current thoughts.
