Lightsource bp participates once again in the ‘carrera de las empresas’ in Spain

Once again this year, the Lightsource bp team participated in the “Carrera de las Empresas” in Madrid, a sporting event where competing teams from companies across Spain run through the streets of the capital, with the aim of promoting health and well-being in the business environment. For this edition, 18 representatives of the company gathered in Madrid to demonstrate their effort, motivation and team spirit, all for a good cause – to raise money for the Lightsource Foundation. The money raised by the team will be used to offer hot meals to Nepalese children in Sarlahi during December, which is one of the Foundation’s initiatives to combat child malnutrition in the region.

Undoubtedly, on this occasion we had the opportunity to show what we are capable of achieving when we work together, both as athletes and as a team. In relation to the “Carrera de las Empresas”, this year we have managed to add eight more runners and thus form three teams competing in three of the available categories. We are very proud that this sporting event has become an important date in the company calendar, and that we’re able to participate more and more each year.

This race allows us to improve ourselves every day and encourage teamwork, as well as giving us the opportunity to collaborate with our foundation. The Lightsource Foundation was created in 2014 in partnership with World Vision, and since then, we have raised nearly £1 million to help disadvantaged populations across the world.

For seven years, we raised money for the communities of Koas Krala, Cambodia, where we worked alongside local volunteers on long-term initiatives to improve the educational, health and nutrition of the population and the protection of children.

Since 2021 we have been working with World Vision to help the most vulnerable children in Sarlahi and thus produce real and lasting changes that improve their quality of life.
