Netherlands: Team growth and the powerful opportunity for solar and energy storage

Recently, our exceptional team in the Netherlands came together for a day of knowledge sharing and fostering collaboration at our Amsterdam office. Over the last couple of months, our team has doubled from four to eight highly skilled professionals, with a few more new recruits around the corner. In person interactions are a key focus at Lightsource bp, to promote ideas and continuous learning while creating opportunities for innovation.

Rapid team expansion

Over a span of just two years, our small, dynamic team in the Netherlands has been fully dedicated to greenfield development, making significant strides in advancing a robust, 1GW pipeline of solar and storage opportunities. The supply of renewable power from these projects can be accessed through power purchase agreements (PPAs), supplying businesses and utilities looking to decarbonise.

Opportunities for solar and energy storage

This rapid expansion in team size is a testament to the extraordinary progress Lightsource bp is making across the Netherlands, and the strong potential for solar and energy storage across the country through the Sustainable Energy Transition Subsidy Scheme (SDE++).

Looking ahead, we are dedicated to further strengthening our activities in the Netherlands by recruiting more talented individuals this year. Our vision encompasses reaching a multi gigawatt scale solar and storage project pipeline within the next five years, embedding Lightsource bp’s position as a renewables leader across the country.
